G. Timothy Munsey

G. Timothy Munsey is the author of the Brass & Bone Investigations series — atmospheric mystery set in Gearhaven, a fog-bound Victorian industrial city where class is measured in elevation and institutions are trustworthy right up until they aren’t.

The series began with a real dog named Nala, who was a partner and daily companion for many years. When it came time to write, she came with him. She always did.

Tim is new to writing and arrived at it the way most worthwhile things arrive — sideways, without announcing itself. Before the books there was no long-held plan to be an author. There was a city that arrived in the imagination fully formed, a character who appeared at a desk and declined to leave, and a dachshund who deserved to be remembered properly. The rest followed from those three things.

When he is not building a world beneath a fog line, he works with his hands — woodworking, crafts, and the general satisfaction of making something that was not there before. He turns up at local comic conventions with some regularity, which tells you most of what you need to know about him.
